Bayo Walter, a youngster from a family of five children. He was the
first born of the family, the son of Mr and Mrs Stephen Walter.
He had no opportunity of the silver spoon birth. He hardly talk to
people has he was an introvert who doesn't talk unless he was pushed to
do so.
Bayo was brilliant, although he had his secondary school
in a wooden built school in the village. He was committed to the things
of God and directed most of his friends to Christ through his excellent
performance in class.
With this attitude, Bayo was helped to the
tertiary institution by a man that had been watching him in the street.
Because, he had helped most students glow in their studies.
He
later got admitted into the prestigious University Of Obafemi Awolowo in
Ile-Ife, Osun State. He bagged awards in his department because he
never for once relented in studying assiduously.
He read at every opportunity, despising the boisterous noise in his hostel.
Few years later, Bayo graduated from the university with a first class
degree in Zoology. He searched for job after his NYSC programme with all
the fibre he had in him, but all to no avail.
He didn't quit his
potential of becoming a man of great influence to his generation, with
the understanding of God's word that he was brought up with. Bayo's love
for God doubled in spite of his joblessness. He kept on serving the
Lord.
On this fateful day, Bayo accompanied one of his friend in
the street to a job interview in a reputable school as a principal. He
sat in the reception to wait for his friend. Suddenly, the proprietor of
the school came out to pick something in his car. He saw others waiting
to be called for the interview in the reception but ignored them and
focused his attention on Bayo.
Lo and behold, God intervened in
his case, the proprietor went straight to him and asked him what was his
name and why he sat there for. Bayo was startled at first and wondered
at the question as if he was dreaming. He gathered courage and replied
sluggishly that, 'he was waiting for his friend who came for an
interview here.'
In a nutshell, Bayo was told to enter the
interviewer's room with others after the shocking interview of the
proprietor with him, and he was interviewed. He was also chosen not
because he had all the experience in the world as a principal but simply
because of the favour of God that distinguished him from the others and
the power of joblessness. What a wonder!
Bayo's case was summed
up in the Bible verse which says, "Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in
heaven." - Matthew 5:16.
